India's rising star Akash Deep is on cloud nine as he received a bat from ex-India captain Virat Kohli. Notably, Deep earned an Ind ia call-up for the upcoming Bangladesh Test series and will share the same dressing room with Virat, who too arrived in Chennai on September 13.  

He received a bat, as a token of gratitude from Virat:

Every prospective cricketer in India wants to represent their country and meet their idols. Akash Deep recently realized his ambition, as the Indian team works hard in the nets in Chennai ahead of the opening match on September 19 at the Chepauk Stadium. The right-arm seamer took a selfi e with Virat and was given a bat as a symbol of thanks. 

Deep's Performance In Domestic Cricket:

Akash Deep has emerged as one of India's best bowlers in 2024, having made his international debut in the final Test against England in March 2024, but was unable to share the field with Vir at, who was not part of the series. However, it is worth mentioning that the two are RCB teammates, with the right-arm seamer having been with the three-time finalist since 2022.

    The technology, created with GoBubble, analyzes social media channels related to the event and its players. Over 60 gamers have already opted in for this service, which is intended to protect them from negative remarks and improve their mental health.

    Finn Bradshaw, ICC Head of Digital, stressed the significance of this initiative: "We are committed to creating a good and inclusive atmosphere for all participants and supporters of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. It has been fantastic to see so many athletes and teams support our new effort."

    South African cricketer Sinalo Jafta emphasized the tool's importance: "There is nothing worse than unlocking your phone after a loss—or even a victory—and finding derogatory remarks. This safety enables gamers to disclose their life without fear of being judged or criticized."

    ICC takes big step to protect mental sanctity of Women players:

    Ahead of the tournament's start, the ICC initiated a unique campaign to make social media a safer environment for players. In conjunction with GoBubble, the ICC released an AI solution for filtering hate speech and filth from social media networks.

    The ICC's goal in deploying this technology is to preserve competitors' mental health and build a pleasant digital milieu surrounding the event.

    Finn Bradshaw, ICC Head of Digital, has indicated his support for the project. He also applauded the players and clubs for using the new technology, with over 60 players already signing up for the service. He said.

    ICC unveils commentary panel for T20 WC 2024

    The ICC revealed a list of their commentary panel for the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup on October 2, only a few days before the competition began in the UAE. World Cup champions Mel Jones, Lisa Sthalekar, Stacy Ann King, Lydia Greenway, and Carlos Brathwaite will be joined by other cricketers Katey Martin, WV Raman, and Sana Mir.

    Former players Anjum Chopra and Mithali Raj are among the renowned Indians on the panel, who will share their professional knowledge throughout the championship.

    Broadcasting stalwarts like Ian Bishop, Kass Naidoo, Nasser Hussain, Natalie Germanos, Alison Mitchell, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Kass Naidoo, and Laura McGoldrick are also on the tournament's well-regarded commentary team.

    Aside from announcing the commentary lineup, the ICC revealed that T20 World Cup coverage will include at least 28 cameras for each game.
